Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit Description
Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit is the next installment of a cycle started in 1994, in which players can test supercars available for a few on different routes. Production introduces a number of novelties, which diversify the fun.
Mechanics
In the third part of the popular racing series, players are provided with a dozen or so luxurious, exclusive sports cars. These included machines such as Ferrari 50 Maranello, Lamborghini Diablo SV, Chevrolet Corvette C5 and Lamborghini Countach. In addition, the garage is complemented by police vehicles created for Hot Pursuit mode. In each of the available cars you can change a number of settings, from gear ratios, through brake balance and suspension softness, to the type of tyres.
The creators have prepared nine tours in different sceneries. The race takes place in the desert sands, in the suburbs, in the centre of the metropolis and in the mountains. Each track has shortcuts to discover, the use of which is often necessary to overcome. A certain obstacle is traffic, which forces you to plan your manoeuvres and be careful when driving against the current.
Game modes
Hot Pursuit offers several fun options. The modules known from the previous part come back, including a single race that gives a lot of options to modify the rules and a knockout, in which the weakest driver after each stage leaves the further competition. New is the title Hot Pursuit mode, which allows players to play the role of a participant escaping from the police in illegal struggles or trying to bring order to the guardian of the law. The game also allows you to play in a larger group, via LAN or the Internet.
Technical aspects
Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit is a three-dimensional racing game in which the authors took care of realistic representation of available cars. The struggles are accompanied by energetic, energetic electronic music, as well as rock and drum and bass songs. This is the first title in a series that enables multiplayer fun through the web and supports widescreen mode.
