The plot of the game presents the events that took place before the events shown in NecroVision. The player takes on the role of a German soldier from World War I, who discovers that apart from humans, zombies and demons also take part in battles on the front. The game is maintained in the climate of dark horror.

They Shall Not Pass brings a new game mode called Frontlines, which combines the Conquest and the Rush modes. Two sides of the conflict fight one another for control over certain, interconnected spots.
