A remastered edition of the classic aerial shooting, which debuted in 1990 on Amiga computers. The action of the game takes place in the years 1916-18, and we play the role of the pilot of the 56th RAF Squadron, sitting at the helm of the plane Sopwith Camel. The new version of the title offers a completely refreshed HD graphics, a re-recorded soundtrack, as well as 5 hidden missions and an alternative end to the game.
Wings! Remastered Edition, released on AND, iOS and PC, is a remastered edition of the classic 1990 hit. The original made its debut on Commodore Amiga computers, where it became one of the most popular games, and after many years it was converted to GameBoy Advance console, as well as reissued on GOG.com and on mobile devices. The remaster was developed by the Cinemaware, the same developer that worked on the original.
Plot
The action of Wings! Remastered Edition takes place in World War I, and we play the role of the pilot of the legendary 56th RAF Squadron, who pilots the Sopwith Camel biplane. We have more than 230 missions to complete, taking place between 1916 (when planes joined the war for the first time) and 1918. During these missions, we deal with one-on-one air fights, as well as bombardment and shooting at enemy positions on the ground. The game is accompanied by a story mode, stylized as a wartime diary.
Mechanics
Wings! Remastered Edition is a classic aircraft shooter, in which, depending on the type of mission, we observe the action in a top-down perspective or in a first-person view.
Technical aspects
Wings! Remastered Edition is characterized by completely re-mastered graphics, created from scratch on the basis of the original version from Amiga computers. Unlike the original, it was made in full 3D and HD resolution. Also noteworthy is the voice acting absent in the original and the remastered soundtrack, which was re-recorded with an orchestra. In addition, the creators also included five hidden, never published missions and an alternative ending.
