Battlefield 1: Turning Tides Description
Turning Tides is a yet another expansion to Battlefield 1 – the best-selling FPS game developed by DICE. Similarly to the base game, this DLC is available on a number of platforms including PC, PS4 and XONE.
Mechanics
Battlefield 1: Turning Tides introduces four new maps – interestingly enough, players got the access to the first two maps (Cape Helles and Achi Baba) on the day of the DLC's premiere, while the remaining two maps (Heligoland Bight and Zeebruggee) have been released several weeks later. The developers have also decided to implement a new elite class – the Infiltrator features permanent sprint, can call artillery support, hide in clear sight, and set up respawn points for his fallen allies.
Moreover, the add-on described herein allows players to use three new types of cold steel weapons and six new firearms – the latter ones include the M1912/P.16 automatic pistol as well as Carcano M91 and Fargugar-Hill carbines. Turning Tides implements also new vehicles featuring the C-class aircraft and the L-class Destroyer. Players can also choose to side with a new faction – the British Royal Marines.
Game modes
The PC, PS4 and XONE release of Battlefield 1: Turning Tides brings back an alternative version of the Conquest mode introduced by the previous installments in the Battlefield series. In this mode, players are fighting for control over the strategic points on the map. The Conquest Assault mode differs from the previous modes as the teams begin a match with 3 points under control – nonetheless, they do not have a base, so they can respawn only in special places or by their teammates.
Technical aspects
Battlefield 1: Turning Tides is not a standalone expansion – it requires the base game in order to work.
