Plot
In The Cycle you play as a mercenary, who wants to quickly get rich, and lives in the Prospect orbital station. This is from where you and other mercenaries regularly go to the planet Fortuna III, terraformed by aliens several ages ago. The planet is full of countless natural resources and precious exotic materials. Unfortunately, they're surrounded by deadly hurricanes, which makes the expeditions dangerous and enforces a time limit.
Mechanics
The Cycle is a classic futuristic FPS production. During the game, you complete quests for various factions controlling the space station. The quests involve killing monsters living on the planet, and gathering certain natural resources. In exchange, you earn money and are allowed to buy new faction equipment. The 12-minutes-long matches/quests can feature up to 20 players. They can cooperate, join temporary alliances, or compete against each other to succeed.
