F2P FPS From Spec Ops: The Line Devs - The Cycle Release Date
The Cycle: Frontier will debut next week. The alpha and beta versions of this shooter have attracted nearly a million players so far, and the title also reigns supreme on the free-to-play wishlist on Steam.
The Cycle: Frontier - one of the most anticipated F2P games according to Steam users (vide VG247) - will debut early next month. June 8 will mark the launch of the preseason version, and the first season goes live on June 22. Along with it, the game will also include a battle pass. The title will hit both Steam and Epic Games Store.
Free online FPS from the creators of Spec Ops: The Line lacked a major advertising campaign, but despite this it managed to attract a lot of fans. The closed alpha and beta tests of The Cycle: Frontier involved nearly one million users interested in the PvEvP model, in which players fight not only each other, but also the hostile environment.
Recall that the action of this futuristic shooter takes place on the resource-rich planet Fortuna III, where 20 players land. Their goal is to complete tasks commissioned by one of three factions (ICA, Korolev, Osiris). During this time they will compete with each other or form alliances, face the local fauna, progress their characters, create items and collect minerals. However, they will keep the acquired resources only if they manage to leave the planet alive.
It is worth mentioning that Yager Development has been polishing its work for a long time, which originally debuted in early access in 2019 as The Cycle. The title enjoyed good reviews, but it did not achieve success, among other things, due to the restriction to only one distribution platform, Epic Games Store. The developers were forced to withdraw it, but they did not abandon the project, instead deciding to revise their vision. As a result, the game lived to see a thorough overhaul, thanks to which the creators managed to attract new users.
