Deadrop is an FPS developed by Midnight Society studio. We're talking about the development team, founded by the Internet celebrity known as Dr. DisRespect. The project was supervised by industry veterans such as Robert Bowling (who previously held the position of creative strategist for the Call of Duty series), Quinn DelHoyo (co-creator of the Gears of War series and the Halo 5: Guardians game) and Sumit Gupta (founder of BitRhymes, Bash Gaming and Boom.tv).
Plot
Deadrop takes us on a journey to an alternate version of 2020. After 40 years of climate wars, and as a result of gigantic population growth and pollution, the Earth has changed beyond recognition. Humanity is crowded into so-called Refiner States - self-sufficient buildings operating like city-states. Lawlessness is rampant in them, and their most valuable export commodity has become Space Dust - a drug made from pollution collected from the stratosphere. Because of its value, it has become a craving morsel for various factions, which are fighting a fierce war for control over its flow. In the course of the game, we take on the role of soldiers, who are engaged in obtaining this specific substance and eliminating mercenaries of other factions.
Game mechanics
Deadrop represents a sub-genre of extraction shooters. Thus, this is a multiplayer FPP shooter, which is based on principles similar to those of battle royale type productions. Traversing successive floors of soaring buildings, we try to get as much of the drug as possible. In order for the mission to be successful, after filling the pockets, we still have to reach the evacuation point in one piece and escape from the map in time. As we are constantly trampled on by players fighting for other groups, there are frequent skirmishes, during which we make use of a variety of weapons.
Game modes
Deadrop only allows you to play in multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Deadrop runs on Unreal Engine 5 technology, and the game features good quality graphics, which is made in a gloomy, dystopian style.
