Dr. DisRespect Will Make Games Together With Other „Mega-influencers”
Dr. DisRespect announced plans to create his own development studio. It is to create games together with other „mega-influencers”.
Popular streamer Dr. DisRespect plans to open his own development studio. A job offer for a person who would lead this team appeared on his website known as Champions Club. He is looking for a specialist with at least five years of experience as a game developer. Knowledge of esports and monetization strategies is a bonus, which suggests that the plans may include a networked free-to-play game focused on PvP competition.
The listing suggests that the studio will develop projects for PC (available on Steam and Epic Games Store) and consoles. In addition, the company has plans to work with independent developers. The offer also includes co-creation of games, as well as assistance in their realization and advertising.
What is interesting, the studio will create games in cooperation with "mega-influencers". Many companies now use video content creators to advertise their projects. Here, however, it seems that Dr. DisRespect wants to go further and involve them in the creative process from the very beginning.
Under normal circumstances, a streamer looking to open their own development studio would be in way over their head, but in this case it's different. Dr. DisRespect is a character played by Herschel Beahm IV. Before he created this alter-ego he was employed at Sledgehammer Games. There, he first served as a community manager, and then was promoted to level designer and worked on many of the multiplayer maps featured in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Dr. DisRespect is therefore a person with experience in game development and is well aware of what is required in such a job. The venture is therefore likely to turn out to be more than just a whim of a popular streamer.
