UFL
UFL is a free-to-play football game that challenges such series as FIFA or PES. The game allows us to face off against other players on football pitches. We can pick from various singleplayer & multiplayer modes and there's also a mode based on FIFA's Ultimate Team system.
developer: Strikerz Inc. publisher: Strikerz Inc. Official website
UFL is a sports game dedicated to football and made by the Strikerz studio. This is a team established in 2016, bringing together developers from various corners of the world, who work remotely or in the company's regional offices. It is distributed in a free-to-play model.
Gameplay
In UFL we take control of the players and participate in football matches, doing everything to lead our team to victory. Thanks to the license obtained by the authors from the FIFPRO association, the game offers names and faces of over 5,000 players, including the biggest football stars.
The work of Strikerz studio primarily challenges the FIFA series from EA Sports, which has been known as EA Sports FC since 2023. At the same time, the described project draws heavily from it. It implements free and penalty kicks, as well as managing tactics and line-ups in a similar way.
The game has a fast, arcade nature, which means that goals are scored very often. Although the authors did not strive for excessive realism, the statistics and ratings reflecting the skills of individual footballers have a real impact on their achievements on the pitch. This means that players with lower scores contribute to the final results of the matches to a small extent.
Game modes
UFL allows to play alone and in multiplayer mode. We can play with other players through the Internet or on a shared screen.
In addition to the possibility of playing ranked and local matches, the game offers the Global Online Football League mode, which is a kind of answer to the Ultimate Team module in EA Sports' works. It allows players to create their own teams by acquiring increasingly better (and increasingly expensive players).
Beta tests
The premiere of UFL was preceded by its closed and open beta tests. Information about their next phases can be found on the official project blog.
PC version
The focus for the creators of UFL are PlayStation and Xbox consoles. While working on developing dedicated console versions, the authors do not mention a release for personal computers (PC).
Engine
UFL uses Unreal Engine 5.
