PlayStation Vita is the second portable console from Sony (a successor to PlayStation Portable), counted as the 8th generation gaming platform. It was released on February 22nd, 2012 in North America and Europe at the same time. Despite the technological advancement of games released for PS Vita (possibly thanks to 4-core ARM CPU) and many multimedia features, it didn’t manage to repeat the success of PSP.

Inspired by the Nordic mythology, a cRPG developed by the independent studio Stoic, whose members worked on, for example, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The action takes us to a world where fratricidal bloodshed between the gods led to chaos and wars. This is an "on the road" type of story, divided into two main plot branches, telling the stories of two Viking parties trying to escape from the threat posed by a mysterious, stone-like race called the Dredge, born as the result of gods’ experiments.

The player is taken to a peaceful fantasy world and assumes the role of Kay Loren - a young nobleman whose father reveals on his deathbed the existence of a distant land belonging to their family. Once the protagonist arrives in the place, it turns out that the entire land is ruined and the family was charged with a large debt.

Hinako, the protagonist, is an ordinary girl who attends high-school, but one day she is taken to an alternative dimension inhabited by dangerous monsters.

After being released, he begins to work as a private detective and tries to solve minor cases, until finally, he finds a lead that might help him get the answers that have been taunting him for years.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth

A hybrid of a visual novel and a tactical role-playing game. The title was developed by studio Leaf and company Aquaplus. The game is a direct sequel to Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and tells the further story of Haku and his friends who are tasked with assuming control of the military forces of the Yamato Empire and using them to protect the territory from hostile neighbors. Like before, long visual novel sequences are intertwining with very short tactical battles.

A tactical jRPG with a turn-based combat system. It was developed by the French studio Kobojo in cooperation with Kazushige Nojima and Hitoshi Sakamoto who previously worked on several installments of the Final Fantasy series. The story of Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey takes place in a fantasy world divided into four regions inhabited by various races. The player becomes a young warrior named Cael who leads a patrol that neutralizes threats from potential enemies.

Having won the elections, the protagonist returns to their hometown and discovers that the neighbouring forests are filled with bizzare creatures that came into being as a result of mysterious genetic experiments.
Aztez

A stylish game developed by Team Colorblind, an independent studio based in Phoenix, Arizona. The game combines elements of two seemingly incompatible video game genres – turn-based strategy and brawler. The story is set 20 years before the Spanish Conquistadors came to America, and the player is tasked with expanding the Aztec empire, collecting taxes, and handling various randomly generated events.
