Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom
Action
February 16, 2016
A third-person action game developed by experienced Japanese developer Omega Force (Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors) and an adaption of highly popular anime TV series and manga, originally known as Shingeki no Kyojin. The plot is based on the comic books and takes us to grim, post-apocalyptic world, in which the remnants of humanity enclosed themselves in a series of towering walls after being nearly driven to extinction by gigantic Titans. Unlike the previous production based on the Attack on Titan franchise – a visual novel, which is a genre rather unpopular in western countries – this time we receive a pure action game, concentrating mainly on the fights themselves. The game implements high quality 3D visuals, which use the cel shading technology to emphasize comic origins of the game.

God of War Collection
Action
May 6, 2014
A pack containing the first two games from the bestselling God of War series, remastered for the users of next generation consoles. In both games, originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2005 and 2007 respectively, we learn the story of the Spartan warrior Kratos, currently a hatchet man working for the Olympians. The gameplay is implemented in the form of a brutal third-person slasher, as we deal with a throng of mythological monsters and even mighty gods like Ares, or Zeus himself. We also meet many famous characters and get some mythical artifacts that help us fight in various ways. The first two parts in the series that comprise the God of War Collection have been refreshed by Bluepoint Games studio, now supporting 720p resolution and 60 FPS. The support for Trophies, not present in PlayStation 2 editions, has also been added.

In Berserk Warriors player can control not only Guts, but other characters from the comic universe as well. The gameplay mechanics expand on the solutions known from series such as Dynasty Warriors. During the game, the players will face numerous hordes of enemies and powerful bosses. Bastion
RPG
April 7, 2015
An action RPG developed by Supergiant Games - a studio established by Amir Rao and Gavin Simon, who both are former employees of Electronic Arts. In the game, the player assumes the role of a hero named Kidd, who one day wakes up in his bed drifting among the remains of the world, in which he used to live before. The young lad embarks on a journey to find other survivors and provide them with shelter. The world of Bastion that is drifting through the void is a very dangerous - it crawls with monsters that our hero has to face using an elaborate arsenal of both melee and ranged weapons. Moreover, since particular locations literally are hanging in mid-air, a moment of distraction might result in Kidd falling off the map. Bastion stands out from similar productions because of its method of delivering the story (the actions of the main protagonist are described in real time by a narrator) and the original visuals featuring colorful, hand painted, and highly interactive backgrounds. Interestingly enough, in spite of the fairytale-like style of the game, Bastion tells a grim story about the apocalypse. The game has been recognized with many prestigious awards.

Dungeon Hunter 5

July 13, 2018
The fifth major installment in the popular mobile action RPG series by Gameloft. The story of Dungeon Hunter 5 is a direct continuation to its predecessor. Trade routes are overrun by bandits while demons appear in swamps to create a powerful undead army with the warriors who raised the grave. In the game, we assume the role of a bounty hunter who tries to restore order in the kingdom, at least partially. The gameplay mechanics haven’t been significantly changed and are still rooted in the hack ‘n’ slash genre. The protagonist’s tasks include performing subsequent quests that involve exploration of the kingdom, fighting hordes of monsters, gathering treasures, and developing skills with the obtained experience. The equipment system now lets us destroy items to acquire raw materials needed to enhance weapons.

May 27, 2016
An action game with numerous RPG elements. The plot of Dragon Quest Heroes II references the events of its predecessor. Despite the lack of any direct links to the core Dragon Quest productions, there are a few familiar faces to see here. As befits a hack and slash game, Dragon Quest Heroes II focuses on quick and spectacular combat. The player fights hordes of enemies who would pose no threat in a one-on-one fight but can be dangerous in larger numbers. Moreover, from time to time, the protagonist faces powerful bosses; to defeat them, it is necessary to use more advanced tactic. Although the game focuses on arcade hand-to-hand combat, it does not lack a complex plot and script. Dragon Quest Heroes II offers three-dimensional graphics which resemble Japanese manga and anime stylistics.

Action
November 23, 2016

The gameplay is similar to the one present in the previous games in the series and is based on battles with thousands of participants. Among the improvements created by the developers there is a selection of game modes – the adventure starts in the “castle city”, a base from which we can not only select playing mode but also participate in various side activities. The main mode of the game is a historical war campaign during which the player has freedom to select tactics and optional objectives. What’s new are the “Long-term Battles” – fights that take many hours and have a day and night cycle. Samurai Warriors: Sanada Maru has high quality graphics provided by the engine created for the fourth main installment of the series.

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni
Action
December 10, 2015
An action game developed by Japanese studio Tamsoft for the portable console PlayStation Vita. The main characters of Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni are teenage female warriors that are the victims of the mysterious V virus which gave them paranormal abilities. The girls are living on an island isolated from the world and together they fight hordes of mutants. The mechanics of Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni are similar to ones used in classic Japanese TPP hack and slash games like Devil May Cry. During a mission the player is fighting large groups of weaker opponents and powerful bosses. The female warriors can dodge and perform various attacks that can be combined into combos. The player can control one of seven playable characters and is accompanied by a female partner – what’s interesting, she can transform into a weapon for the player to use in combat. The story is presented like in visual novels and the story campaign offers different endings. The game also offers training mode, survival mode and various types of multiplayer modes for up to four players.

The game is characteristic for its fast-paced gameplay - the player traverses extensive levels and fights against encountered enemies by employing an extensive combat system, including dodges, counters, and combos. Mechanics slightly resemble productions from the Dynasty Warriors series. During gameplay you control one of 16 characters known as Servants – there are both some new and old characters. Each of the aforementioned figures possesses unique, great powers that you can use in combat with tens (or even hundreds) of enemies at the same time. In contrast to the other titles in the franchise, representing either jRPG or visual novel genres, this production features fast and spectacular action in the form of a hack-and-slash.

Hand of Fate
RPG
February 17, 2015
A unique fantasy mix of a card game, a board game and an RPG title. We traverse dungeons, fighting monsters and collecting treasures, but not like in typical role-playing games. Everything happens on a virtual table, with us playing a card game in front of The Dealer. We travel through locations by moving a pawn representing our hero on the table and revealing cards that depict enemies, NPCs, locations, and other elements that make our adventure. When we face an enemy, we are taken to a three-dimensional environment and control the hero like in any other TPP action-RPG title. As befits a card game, Hand of Fate isn’t lacking the option of building one’s deck, consisting of parts of equipment, special attacks, and other bonuses gained during game.

Samurai Warriors 4: Empires
Action
September 17, 2015
Another installment of the third-person hack ‘n’ slash action games developed by Omega Force. The title takes the players to feudal Japan and lets them take part in Battle of Okehazama and Battle of Sekigahara. The title is focused on stories of individual characters that we choose before the adventure starts. At the core of Samurai Warriors 4: Empires lies real-time combat with hundreds of units participating. In battles, we make use of a wide range of melee weapons and advanced martial skills or every hero. The above is complemented by strategy elements that involve managing territories we control. The outcome of battles is influenced not only by geographical structure of the terrain but also the overall political situation. The eponymous Empires mode, which is divided into sets of scenarios, lets us play both solo and in cooperation with other players. Moreover, the so-called Creative Mode allows us to design our own missions from scratch.

The setting is again the fantasy world ravaged by armies of demons, and you play as a seasoned warrior, who's dedicated to defeat them. The combat system is based on spectacular combo attacks and requires some agility. When facing boss enemies, you need to use a proper strategy and take advantage of your opponent's weaknesses.
