Developed by Marvelous AQL, another installment of the third-person perspective action games subseries of the Fate franchise, which after a longer break returns to gaming consoles. The action of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star takes place after events from Fate/EXTRA. As the previous war comes to an end, the supercomputer Moon Cell Automaton takes over the world and sends the players to a digital kingdom known as SE.RA.PH.
Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star for PC, PS4 and etc. is another instalment in the Fate series. The game is developed by Marvelous studio, best known for the Harvest Moon franchise.
Plot
The action of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star takes place after events from Fate/EXTRA. Once the previous Holy Grail war is over, the world is in hands of a supercomputer called Moon Cell Automaton. Players go to a digital kingdom called SE.RA.PH., where they have to fight for freedom.
Mechanics
Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star published on PC, PS4 and etc. is a 3D action game in which you control 16 heroes called Servant. Among them there are: Nero Claudius, Tamamo no Mae, Altera, No Name, Gilgamesh, Artoria, Elizabeth Bathory, Jeanne d'Arc, and more. The mentioned characters have potent, devastating powers that can be used during combat with tens, or even hundreds of opponents at the same time. In their ranks there are heroes seen in the former instalments of the Fate series – Fate/stay night, Fate/Apocrypha, and Fate/Grand Order. The action is quick and spectacular, which brings the Dynasty Warriors series to mind.
