An action game with RPG features. The title was developed by Triumph Studios. The player is taken to a classic fantasy world. However, contrary to the typical genre tropes, this time they assume the role of a lord of darkness. The main character’s greatest wish is to take over the world. Hordes of minions with various abilities are helping them in achieving this goal. In Overlord the player is fighting legions of opponents by sending his small, brave, but very stupid followers to a certain death. They are for example very effective when it comes to triggering explosives, but if needed they can also jump into a fire or down a cliff. Although the game is filled with unique humor and a bit tongue-in-cheek, it also contains a bar that represents the corruption level of the protagonist. The player can transform the protagonist into a true evil lord. However he can also change him into a lord protector, for example by helping the citizens of a besieged city. The title has nice looking, colorful graphics that use a slightly cartoonish style.

A sequel to the unusual action game with RPG features, that was developed by Triumph Studios. Similarly to its predecessor, in this game the player assumes the role of an antihero who wants to become a dark lord. However, an evil empire inspired by Roman Empire is standing in his way. The protagonist must conquer various kingdoms in order to eliminate his opponents. In Overlord II the player once more controls not only the main character, but his minions as well. The minions gained some new abilities, including the ability to ride various creatures, assemble into military formations and destroy the surrounding objects. This time the player participates in a war on a much greater scale than in first entry in the series. The game features catchy graphics that use a slightly cartoonish visual style.

Kingdom Under Fire II is set in a fantasy realm called Bersia, where three conflicted factions – Human Alliance (elves and humans), Dark Legion (orcs and ogres) and Encablossa (mutants and monsters) – wage a bloody war against one another. The player takes command of one of the conflicted sides and tries to turn the tide in their favor. While the Blueside’s production lets you play solo in a story-driven campaign, the game’s main asset is its expansive, MMO-inspired multiplayer mode, including such elements as e.g. social features.

The title takes the players to feudal Japan and lets them take part in Battle of Okehazama and Battle of Sekigahara. The title is focused on stories of individual characters that we choose before the adventure starts. At the core of Samurai Warriors 4: Empires lies real-time combat with hundreds of units participating. In battles, we make use of a wide range of melee weapons and advanced martial skills or every hero. The above is complemented by strategy elements that involve managing territories we control. The outcome of battles is influenced not only by geographical structure of the terrain but also the overall political situation. The eponymous Empires mode, which is divided into sets of scenarios, lets us play both solo and in cooperation with other players. Moreover, the so-called Creative Mode allows us to design our own missions from scratch.

A spin-off to an installment in the popular series of Japanese games developed by Omega Force - Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, a game that was released in 2014. In contrast to previous installments of the series, this time it is a turn-based RPG with strategy features. In Dynasty Warriors: Eiketsuden (originally called Shin Sangoku Musou Eiketsuden) the gameplay consists mostly of fighting battles on small arenas on which player moves and attacks by spending a certain number of action points. Various heroes have different sets of abilities and can use a wide variety of weapons. In addition to that, by playing the game skillfully one fills a Resonance bar that allows the player to perform a special attack, ending with a QTE sequence. Among the playable characters there are heroes known from the previous installments of Dynasty Warriors. The graphics of the game are similar to the main series as well, but the action is shown from a top-down perspective.

An unusual adventure game by Funkatronic Labs, combining elements of platformer and turn-based strategy productions. The plot of Nova-111 revolves around the effects of an experiment conducted by 111 ingenious scientists from an alternate world, where time flows in turns. The result of their actions is an anomaly that merged both worlds. As a pilot of the research vessel Nova, we have to find and rescue the scientists and to remove the anomaly to separate the dimensions. While playing, we explore two-dimensional levels that resemble those from traditional adventure games. However, most actions — including movement and combat — take place in turns. The production features many strategic fights and arcade challenges, but the main emphasis was put on solving puzzles, most of which require us to creatively use the protagonist’s special powers. Another key gameplay element is gathering parts that enable us to enhance our ship.

A set of three installments of the Atelier series, a popular jRPG/visual novel series developed by Gust Co. All three games – Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland (2009), Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland (2010) and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland (2011) - enable the player to assume the role of novice alchemists that are running their own alchemy practices in order to achieve story-led goals. The need for certain rare ingredients see us traverse various ruins and dungeons, often inhabited by various monsters. All three titles are characteristic for their pleasant and humoristic plot, as well as time limits that force us to plan our moves in advance.

Developed by the independent Little Orbit studio, this tactical action RPG is set in the universe known from the television sci-fi series Falling Skies (known in Poland as Enemy Skies). The action of the game focuses on the adventures of a group of people who survived the alien invasion and organized themselves into a kind of resistance focal point to face the alien invaders. As a commander of one of these units, we take part in a series of randomly generated missions, whose aim is usually to eliminate the enemy or rescue hostages.
