Action 01 June 2006

The first expansion to Half-Life 2. Its action takes place directly after the events shown in the predecessor and expands the storyline with new plots. Once more the player becomes the main protagonist of the series: Gordon Freeman, accompanied, once again, by Alyx Vance. The two characters are tasked with escaping from an alien citadel – the place where the basic version of the game ended.

Dead Island Riptide picks up where the first game left off. Although a few lucky survivors managed to escape the zombie-infested island of Banoi, they never managed to get home, as their ship crashed by the shore of another tropical island – Palanai.

The protagonist fell victim to evil and transformed into a Lord of Shadow.

The story features a tropical island, cut off from the world, where a zombie epidemic spreads out. Few remaining people are trying to survive and find a way to escape the living dead. Gameplay in Dead Island is built around exploration, completing quests, crafting useful items, and fighting undead opponents.

Before each operation, the player chooses the weapons and equipment that will serve the objectives best.

The player can fight alongside the Allies or the Axis. The game focuses on presenting the war in a realistic way. The battles are played on vast maps based on archives.
