The second part of the best-selling TPP action-adventure series set in feudal Japan. Ghost of Yotei is not a direct sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. The new protagonist is a woman named Atsu. Her journey begins in 1603 - roughly 300 years after the adventures of Jin Sakai.
Ghost of Yotei is the second installment in the action-adventure game series set in feudal Japan, started in 2020 by the best-selling Ghost of Tsushima. The sequel was developed by the authors of the original, the Sucker Punch Productions team, also known for the Sly Cooper and inFamous series.
Is Ghost of Yotei the Ghost of Tsushima 2?
Ghost of Yotei is not a direct continuation of the story from Ghost of Tsushima. The events depicted in this production begin in 1603, which is 300 years after the adventures of Jin Sakai. The main character of the game is Atsu, and the action takes place in the areas surrounding the titular mountain peak Yotei, which towers over the area of Ezo, now known as Hokkaido. In contrast to the island of Tsushima, which was controlled by samurai clans, this new region is outside the jurisdiction of Japan (although, due to its grassy plains or snow-covered tundras, it is equally picturesque).
The new setting was an opportunity for the creators of Ghost of Yotei not only to present previously inaccessible locations, but also to offer new weapons and mechanics.
When is the premiere?
The official release date for Ghost of Yotei is generally 2025. Most likely, the debut will take place in the second half of 2025, probably in the fall. One should also consider the possibility of the game being postponed to 2026.
