What To Expect From The PlayStation State of Play Tomorrow
PlayStation has confirmed a State of Play presentation for tomorrow. What should be expected? Ghost of Yotei? Death Stranding 2? Maybe a few Xbox games?

Today, in a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has announced a State of Play for tomorrow February 12th. The presentation will run for 40 minutes and begins at 2pm PT. Fans can expect “news and updates on great games coming to PS5.” This showcase was rumored last week and is finally confirmed today. Will we hear more about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach? Or get a release date for Ghost of Yotei? Will they give an update on what happened during the weekends near 24-hour PSN outage?
PlayStation State of Play presentation scheduled for tomorrow, February 12th, confirming rumors
There are a lot of games that could show up at this presentation. But let’s make sure to set some expectations. We will not see any hint of Naughty Dog’s new title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The announcement at the Game Awards will be the last we hear about this game likely for years. It also still feels early to hear from Insomniac about Wolverine, so keep expectations low on that front.
Something that could make this a noteworthy presentation is the potential for Xbox games making an appearance. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is already confirmed to be coming to PS5 in early 2025, so this could be where we get a release date. Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Mythology: Retold are also confirmed to arrive on the PS5, making this a good opportunity to share that news directly with PlayStation fans. Or maybe there is a surprise in store that will shock everyone. Seeing Xbox and PlayStation come together like this could be a truly historic event for a video game community torn apart by console wars for so many years.
A few things are more reasonable to expect. An update on games expected to launch this year like Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is likely, even if it’s just to announce a delay. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was affected by a leaked release date last week, so if that information is correct, it would make sense to officially announce it during this presentation.
PlayStation also has more live-service shooters to talk about. Between Helldivers 2’s massive success and Concord’s unprecedented failure, it feels like the fate of these other two games could be decided with a coin flip. But this could be PlayStation’s opportunity to talk more about Bungie’s sci-fi extraction shooter, Marathon or Haven Studios’ heist shooter Fairgame$. Hopefully they have learned some lessons from their successes and failures about how to present these kinds of games, but no matter what, the industry will be watching these games.
