Each of the factions’ heroes belongs to one of six play styles: Order, Wisdom, Nature, Corruption, Dominion, and Rage. They also have a unique skill each and can learn more of them, using special shrines, as the game progress.

The player directs a character trapped in a diabolic game, and his task is to get out and save his soul. Pony Island stands out mainly due to its gameplay. There are typical arcade sequences in the game, but it is much more important to be able to interfere with the code of a fictional application, which takes the form of simple logical games.
