An unusual logic game enriched with elements associated with economic strategies and card games. Concrete Jungle was designed by the creators of MegaCity. The player assumes the role of a mayor whose task is to ensure dynamic development of a small town. Although this resembles a brief description of a typical economic strategy game, Concrete Jungle uses mechanics typical for logic and card games mainly.

Concrete Jungle is a PC, iOS and AND released puzzle game enriched with light elements of economic strategy and cards. The production was developed by the British developer Cole Jefferies, the author of MegaCity based on a similar idea.

Mechanics

W Concrete Jungle We play the role of mayor of a small town and our task is to ensure its dynamic development. However, this idea has not been implemented in the traditional form of an economic strategy - we must fulfil the duties of an official within the framework of mechanisms which are mainly a hybrid of a logical game and a card.

During the game, the player has a gradually expanded deck, in which cards represent specific buildings. By playing them, we build the structures assigned to them on the map, and each such structure influences the character of the neighbouring areas. For example, by building a sewage treatment plant, we will increase the prices of the plots serviced by it, but at the same time the plots not connected to it will lose their value. We do all this in order to get a specific number of points from the inhabitants of a given section, which in turn unblocks subsequent quarters for development.

As the city grows, our waist also grows, and our structures remain on the map all the time, limiting movements and increasing the difficulty level. In total, more than 150 types of buildings were found in Concrete Jungle.

Game modes

The game offers a fictional campaign and a mode of competition with artificial intelligence. There were also options to face other players or to join forces with them against AI.
