Game Expansions for Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary
Action 09 June 2019
Fifth large expansion to Borderlands 2 shooter, released almost 7 years after the launch of the game. The add-on preceded the third part of the cycle, which was released in 2019, and is a feature introduction to it. Gearbox Software studio is responsible for the production.
Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
Action 25 June 2013
The fourth and final DLC for Borderlands 2, a post-apocalyptic action game developed by Gearbox Software that combines elements of FPS and RPG genre. The key character in the Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep expansion is a crazy thirteen-year old girl who loves explosives. The fans of the series should know her from the basic version of Borderlands 2 as well as from the Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage expansion. The main theme of this expansion pack is a meta-session of table-top RPG game, Bunkers & Badasses – the local variation of Dungeons & Dragons. Tiny Tina plays the role of the dungeon master and the characters known from the first installment of Borderlands – Brick, Mordecai and Lilith – join the session. During the session Tina spontaneously changes the rules of the game, including character names, boss attributes or location layouts. Thanks to that the adventures in Borderlands 2 became unpredictable. The battles are of course played in a form typical for the series, from a first-person perspective.
Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
Action 15 January 2013
The third additional content pack for Borderlands 2, the first-person perspective shooter with RPG elements developed by Gearbox Software. The game invites the players to an anything but friendly planet Pandora, combining science-fiction, humor and action-filled gameplay. In Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC the player goes on a hunt with Sir Hammerlock by his side. The exotic beasts that live in the unexplored Aegrus continent, which consists of a bunch of new locations, are to be the player’s prey. The hunt quickly transforms into a more serious adventure connected to a tribe that worships Handsome Jack. By doing so, the tribe endangers the whole planet. The expansion offers, among other things, new story missions, side quests, challenges, a swamp hovercraft, monsters, weapons and other items. During the hunt, one can encounter giant insects as well as the said tribe, whose shamans are able to support their more aggressive kinsmen. A special boss awaits the strongest groups of players. The Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt expansion is intended for experienced players – it is best to complete it after finishing the basic campaign.
Borderlands 2: Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
Action 20 November 2012
The second major DLC for Borderlands 2, a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with RPG elements developed by Gearbox Software. The plot of Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage revolves around a new Vault which requires a special ritual to be opened. In order to perform it, a champion of Pandora must be chosen by means of a brutal tournament on a special arena. Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage offers new locations to visit and numerous additional missions; however, the core of the expansion are spectacular battles in which the players have to defeat several subsequent waves of increasingly powerful enemies. Apart from remastered versions of the already known foes, we also fight new ones, including unique bosses such us the psychopathic Pyro Pete, Motor Mama, and Badassaurus Rex that resembles a cross between a tank and a mechanical dinosaur. As an award for victories, we can unlock new weapons which we buy with a special currency. Some of the known characters, including Tannis, Moxxi, and Tiny Tina, make an appearance in the expansion.
Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
Action 16 October 2012
The first of four large DLCs to the second installment of the post-apocalyptic series of first-person perspective shooters with RPG elements. Similarly as in the case of the basic version of Borderlands 2, the expansion was created by Gearbox Software. The action of Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty takes place in a previously unknown desert location, where, among the dunes, lies a small settlement called Oasis. Bandits led by Captain Scarlett live and operate in that area. What’s interesting, the members of this group act, look and talk like real pirates. Their story and the legend of the hidden treasure are the main plot of the expansion pack. During the missions available in Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty the player faces previously unknown enemies and four new bosses: Captain Scarlett, Leviathan, Hyperius the Invincible and Master Gee the Invincible. The desert locations can be explored by using a vehicle similar to a hovercraft. The expansion adds new item type and currency. Each of the five available characters received an optional pirate costume as well.
