Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty for PC, PS3 and X360 is the first of four large DLC packs for the second installment of the post-apocalyptic series of first-person perspective shooters. Similarly as in case of the basic version of the game, the expansion was developed by Gearbox Software.
Plot
The expansion takes place on a new desert area where among the dunes there is a small settlement called Oasis inhabited by bandits. Despite the fact that their headquarters is located in the middle of the desert, they act, look and speak like actual pirates. The group is led by Captain Scarlett. The story of these pirates and a legend about a hidden treasure are the main plots of the expansion.
Mechanics
Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty for PC, PS3 and X360 enriches the basic game with previously unseen enemies (including a desert worm) and new bosses: Captain Scarlett, Leviathan, Hyperius the Invincible and Master Gee the Invincible. The desert sands can be explored by using a vehicle similar to a hovercraft. The expansion adds new item class and currency called Seraph Crystals. Each of five available characters received an optional pirate costume as well.
