Gray Screen after Loading

Gray screen after loading is a very common problem in the first versions of the game. The solution is unusual - go to the Control Panel -> Sound, and choose the Recording tab. There you need to disable all present devices: microphones, line inputs, mixing cards, or even virtual microphones. Currently it's a sure solution for this problem, but it will probably be dealt with in the upcoming patches.

Optimizing the Graphics

The video settings can be freely customized in the Advanced tab.

Many users report very poor game optimization. Most of the time, this revolves around entering the cities and villages, which is somewhat uncommon. Aside from a powerful GPU, the game requires a good processor - if the CPU usage (even Windows Task Manager - CPU Usage History graph) is often 100%, with the constant value is more than 80%, you should think about overclocking/replacing the current CPU. A weak processor (in relation to the graphic card) can also be noticed by the constant FPS, regardless of the video settings.

If you have problems with fluid gameplay, first make sure that you have an up-to-date graphic driver. A "clean" install is recommended (remove previous entries using, e.g. DDU Tool, available for free). Check whether the graphic settings were set automatically - this option works rather poorly on many computers. Furthermore, to improve the performance, you should disable MSAA (FXAA also works well), shadows, and the quality of mirror reflections. If this didn't do the trick, lower the quality of reflections. In a critical situation, you can lower the resolution, but this will seriously reduce the quality. If you have a 2GB GPU, avoid setting the highest quality textures. If FPS still isn't stable, enable V-Sync and Frame Smoothing - it doesn't just limit FPS to a constant number, but also enables smoother transitions between them,

Despite the suggestions above, even while playing on a super-computer you may experience slowdowns on even the lowest settings. Currently, the game is poorly optimized, and doesn't support every device (current version: 1.0.10.2).

Changing the Language

The game menus don't contain an option to change the language; this information is taken from the operating system. If you want to change the language (any supported one) go to the Control Panel -> Region - there, choose a country from the drop-down list. If you want to play in a different language than your system language, the hour and date format on the Windows bottom bar may change (but the time zone won't change, and the shown time will still be correct).

Other Problems

The game doesn't appear in the Shop application.

Install the Anniversary Update.
