Festivals

Desert Festival - Festivals and Lineup - Gameplay basics - Forza Horizon 3 Game Guide
Desert Festival

Festival is the main element of the whole game. These are places, equipped with garages, which development is your main story objective. You don't have to spend money to grow - following levels, up until fifth one, are unlocked based on number of gathered fans. Each stage, represented by a determined number of fans, allows for development of one of the chosen festivals.

Festivals are unlocked as you progress in the game. - Festivals and Lineup - Gameplay basics - Forza Horizon 3 Game Guide

In all, there are four festivals in the game, unlocked as the game progresses. Each expansion unlocks new events and races on the game map (in the further part - the ability to participate in championships), discount for chosen cars (you'll see the necessary screen automatically after the expansion). Sometimes, along with the promotion connected to the determined number of fans, you'll unlock Showdowns - special story events that place emphasis on spectacular racing, not necessarily to check your abilities - as a result - you'll practically always win them without much hustle.

You can travel between festivals using Fast Travel, or drive to them by yourself. The festivals also act as your garages and tuning salons. If you want to switch cars, you need to return to a festival point.

Lineup

You can check your teammates from the Progress menu, but you cannot manage them - only replace with an additional driver. - Festivals and Lineup - Gameplay basics - Forza Horizon 3 Game Guide

Each of the players can unlock new Drivatars that will be chosen for candidates to be a part of your team. To recruit such driver, you need to drive up to the indicated zone (yellow circle on the map) and find Drivatar there (he will be circling around the roads in the zone). When you defeat him in a 1v1 race, you can recruit him to your team. You can have up to 4 members.

What are the advantages of having a team? Drivatars that you have recruited take part in some races and acquire team points, from which you receive a bonus for each race in form of fans and credits. Drivatars also receive payment (without any losses on your end) that lands in their owners' pocket - your Drivatar can also take part in someone's race, or even be recruited for a team. However, you need to buy Celebrity upgrade from Festival Boss category. Even when you recruit a full squad, new Drivatars will still appear on the map. They are tailored for your level, so you can always attempt to change the worst driver in your squad to a new, potentially better one.
