Skill Shop - Drone Mode is the first skill you'll have to unlock.

Aside from credits, you receive reward points for each race. You can spend them on three categories of upgrades: Festival Boss, Skills, and Instant Rewards. Each upper row is much more expensive than the previous one, and each cell requires the neighboring one to be unlocked. There are no clear guidelines about the skills you should invest into - but if you want to develop your driver, choose Skills and invest in the abilities that allow you to gain more experience. Some side upgrades can be found in Festival Boss tab.

Special songs that sometimes play in the radio increase the multiplier of the reward points temporarily.

The best way to get some experience points is spectacular driving (drifts, jumps), wrong way driving, and combining all these elements into combos increasing your point multiplier. Special songs heard on the radio are events that allow you to acquire more experience points - during the duration of the song (about 2 minutes), your point multiplier gets an extra boost.

There is another type of points: driver experience points. They show the player skill, and are displayed as his "rank" near his nick. You gain them while making progress during the races. You can increase the gained amount by spectacular driving (but only during the races) and clean lap runs. For each driver level you'll be able to draw a reward from the lottery - credits or a car. If you have a VIP account, you receive 2x more credits.
