It turns out that in an era of dominance of free-to-play online games and sandbox colossi created on budgets that make some of the Hollywood super productions pale in comparison, there's still room for classic platformers. Leaping through eye-catching levels is even more exciting when the controlled hero is a cult-classic character from the times when such games were among the most popular titles. The likeable Crash Bandicoot used to reign a long time ago, and is in equally great shape today.
Players praise the fourth part for returning to the roots of the series with high difficulty level and excellent audio visual setting. The ingeniously designed levels and the traditional humour for the series are also important in reception. The creators of the Spyro remake have shown once again that they know really well what they're doing, because the latest Crash is, according to many, the best game in its genre in recent years. I just wish there was a little more content.
The new Crash doesn't aim to be the trend-setter in the genre, just its leading representative.
