Genre: Action adventure

Hardly anyone believed that Days Gone may be successful and even fewer people were waiting for the game. The title promised to be a uninspired mix of worn-out ideas, like a hodgepodge of open world, gloomy post-apocalyptic setting, zombies, solving conflicts with either combat or stealth, and a dose of crafting and detective mode added to the mix. You couldn’t really expect this to arouse any significant interest in a modern player who is being spoiled with open-world AAA titles.
However, one more mysterious ingredient was added to the mix, a kind of "chemical X", which made the whole unique – the plot. After the launch, it turned out that the game sets itself apart from other open-world action adventure titles with a much greater emphasis on the story. The story of Deacon, who is trying to find his place in the world after the apocalypse is engaging – and not only during the main storyline, but also in the side missions, often telling their mini-story arcs.
Days Gone does have a few technical problems, but they don't make it particularly difficult to follow one of the best zombie stories that pop culture has offered us in recent years. You may also like the care with which the protagonist's bike, basically the game's other protagonist, and the coherent, convincingly created world have been presented. The gameplay mechanics are "just" good, but that's enough, because this game is played for the story.
