- In one sentence: the struggle for survival in the late Neolithic
We close the history lesson by moving to the times before the Pharoas and the gardens of Babylon – to the Neolithic, when people waged an irreconcilable struggle with nature every day, and a field of barley represented the pinnacle of advanced technology. Acient Cities is a title you may have already heard about, and that's thanks to the interesting concept of transferring the genre to the realities of prehistory.
The scope of the gameplay will be adequately smaller, as we will be controling a tribe of hunter-gatherers fighting for survival. We will be very dependent on natural environmental, which will be fully simulated – over-exploitation of land will quickly result in a shortage of food and raw materials. The smaller scale also allows the developers to personalise our tribesmen more, so that they will create social structures involving hierarchy and family ties.
The release of Acient Cities was announced for next year, but the game has already sparked great interest. Watching the fragments of gameplay, you can see that it will be closer to Banished than to the classic city builders. Therefore, if you are wondering if you want to test your planning and organizational skills in antiquity, keep an eye on Ancient Cities.
