A strategy in which we take control of a reborn civilization that inhabits a small planet with a hex net. Our task is to construct more and more advanced structures, cultivate land, obtain raw materials and develop technologies. The creators set themselves the goal of creating a game almost completely free of violence.
Before We Leave is a strategy game, in which we try to rebuild a destroyed civilization. The game was developed by the independent team at Balancing Monkey Games.
Plot
Before We Leave takes us on a journey to a planetary system devastated by a cosmic cataclysm. Its inhabitants were forced to hide underground, but after years spent under the surface, they started to go out to face the problems waiting for them and try to regain their old lives.
Mechanics
In Before We Leave we observe the action from bird's eye view. During the game, which takes place on relatively small planets covered with a hexagon grid, we are engaged in the construction of progressively more advanced structures, cultivation of land and extraction of resources. In addition, research into new technologies and the recovery of civilisation achievements from the past era play an important role here. Thanks to them, we can establish colonies on other globes, as well as gain the ability to transport resources between different planets. Moreover, from time to time we have to face various problems; the effects of the cosmic catastrophe that pushed our civilisation to the brink of extinction in the past can still be felt, and the giant whales that feed on whole planets are a danger to our people.
Technical aspects
Before We Leave features colorful graphics in a pleasant "low poly" style (based on clearly visible polygons).
