An iconic online shooter with huge maps that withstood battles involving over a hundred players in the largest matches. Here, players assume the role of a soldier wearing a power armor and fight as infantry soldiers, vehicle operators, and jetpack troopers. Tribes 2 offered a lot of game modes, strategies and suit enhancements which translates into a lot of fun. And a hell of a dynamic gameplay.
Interestingly enough, Tribes are set in the same universe as the aforementioned EarthSiege 2, and the game is a part of the so-called Tribes Legacy - a series of games that Hi-Rez shared on their website for free. They are all worth checking out, because also fans of single-player shooters will find something for themselves, namely a game developed by Irrational Games (BioShock, BioShock Infinite) called Tribes Vengeance. This game looks quite decent, as it’s based on Unreal Engine 2.
HOW WELL DID IT AGE?
Apart from the visuals, quite well - after all, it’s a complex game with a lot of things to do. The question is, will you find any players on the servers?
