On this guide page, you will learn what types of shots are available in EA FC 24, how to shoot best, and in what situations it is best to use specific shots.
- Timed Finishing
- Normal Shot/Header
- Power Shot
- Finesse Shot
- Low Driven Shot
- Lob
- Signature Shot (Overhead Kick, Bicycle Kick, Volley, Scorpion, Pike)
Timed Finishing
Timed Finishing is the ability to perform a more precise shot, which can be applied to every shot. To perform a Timed Finishing, you must press the shot button first and then the same button again just before the player touches the ball (O, then O/B, then B). The point at which you press the shot button again may vary depending on the chosen player, so it takes some practice.
When performing a Timed Finishing, a triangular symbol of a specific color will appear above the player's head:
- Green triangle: Timed Finishing was successful
- Red triangle: You pressed the shot button the second time too early, resulting in a player error.
- Gray triangle: You pressed the shot button the second time too late, resulting in a regular shot.
It is worth noting that Timed Finishing is not always the best option for finishing the action for beginner players because there is a considerable margin of error.
If you can't perform Timed Finishing in EA FC 24, please check your control options to make sure this feature is not disabled.
Normal Shot/Header
The normal (O/B) shot with a certain power is often still the best way to score a goal in EA FC 24. You can shoot it from any position, but the effectiveness depends on the player's attributes (finishing, shot power, long shots) and your precision.
When the ball is at the right height, most players in EA FC 24 will automatically try to head it, especially after crosses and free kicks from corners.
Power Shot
Power shot (L1 R1 O/LB RB B) is more powerful and accurate than a regular shot but requires more preparation time.
To make a power shot, you need to consider a few things:
- The player needs to make a little run-up, so make sure he has enough space.
- A power shot requires a more accurate aim, so you use the analog stick with precision to avoid missing.
- The effectiveness and accuracy of a power shot depend on player attributes such as shot power, finishing, and composure.
Finesse Shot
Finesse shot (R1 O/RB B) is a weaker but more precise shot that gives the ball a lot of spin. It is useful when shooting outside the penalty box to the corner of the goal.
When preparing for a finesse shot, position yourself well toward the goal and use the player's better foot. The finesse shot is more difficult to defend, especially by weaker goalkeepers.
Low Driven Shot
In EA FC 24, players will automatically perform a Low Driven Shot when they use low power (up to 40%). This method works for both normal, finesse and power shots.
Lob
A lob (L1 O/LB B) is a precise shot used when the goalkeeper leaves the goal or dives. However, it is worth remembering not to apply too much power to this move because otherwise, the ball might fly over the goal.
Signature Shot (Overhead Kick, Bicycle Kick, Volley, Scorpion, Pike)
Signature Shot (L2 O/LT B), as the name suggests, is to present a spectacular performance. When this maneuver is performed by players with high technical skills, it becomes a real spectacle. Depending on the height of the ball, the player may decide to shoot with an overhead kick, bicycle kick, volley, or even a scorpion.
It is also worth noting that, similarly to FIFA 23, in EA FC 24, there is an option to perform outside foot shots on demand (also L2 O/LT B). The chance of a successful shot is greater for players with the appropriate abilities.
