On this guide page, you will learn about set pieces you can perform in EA Sports FC 24 and how to do them best. We describe throw-ins, penalty kicks and corner kicks.
Throw-Ins
Throw-ins are a way to restart the game when the ball crosses the sideline. When doing throw-ins, pass to players who are not covered by defenders. In a situation where all players are covered well, consider throwing the ball into the open field toward the approaching player. Remember that the longer you hold the pass button, the further the ball will be kicked, sometimes even into the middle of the pitch or into the penalty box.
Corners - classic play
When performing a classic corner kick in EA FC 24, using the left and right analog sticks, you have control over where and with what rotation the ball will be passed. It is important not to pass with too much power because the ball may fly over the players' heads in the penalty box.
Corners - short play
Alternatively, when performing a corner kick, you can try a different approach and call the other player (R1/RB) to you and then pass the ball to continue the action. This action is effective when you do not have tall strikers or defenders who can effectively compete for a position to take a header.
Free Kicks
When taking free kicks in EA FC 24, it is worth choosing a player with high attribute value, such as shot power, curve, free kick, and shooting. Pay attention to which player's leg is stronger to send the ball in the direction you want - the right or left corner of the goal.
- Left stick: Use to move the camera and change the kick/shot direction.
- Right stick: This allows you to control the degree of spin and the height of the football. The characteristic line shows the ball's trajectory in the first few meters or to the goal if the player has the appropriate skills.
Penalty Kicks
When you approach the ball, you will notice a circle on the screen that will shrink based on the player's composure attribute. Kicking the football when the penalty circle is as small as possible (green) results in a more accurate shot.
The Composure attribute in EA FC 24 affects the rate at which the composure ring shrinks, making it easier to perform an accurate shot. The Penalties attribute affects the shot power, as well as how close to the goalposts the ball lands.
