- The first shard is in a ruined village, south of the city of Castrum VII.
- To reach it, use Raise on the part of the building protruding from the ground. Jump onto it and get over the pit. The shard is at the end of the tall tower.
- The second shard is behind the Castrum VII walls, west of the city.
- It's guarded by a few enemies, Cloakers, Devourers and a Diver.
- The last shard is in the center of the map, south of the small desert camp.

The second Gauntlet upgrade is Unearth. It will let you pull larger objects out of the sand, which is necessary to continue the main storyline. You need to unlock this upgrade to complete the next part of the Reforging the Gauntlet quest. It begins after gathering the Gauntlet parts in a large abandoned temple in the north-west of the map. You need three shards to unlock Unearth. Remember to use Nyall's senses while searching.
- The first shard is on a wall in the western part of the map - jump from the tower near Anvil #9 onto the rooftops. You'll need to raise the sealing totems nearby to get it.
- The second shard is south of the first one. Don't get off the wall where the first fragment is - instead jump onto the elevated terrain.
- First, kill the Shellbasher by defeating its round body parts. Then raise a part of the wall - jumping through the ruins will let you reach the cave where the shard is.
- The last fragment is in the northern part of the map, above the city of Catrum VII.
- To reach it, look for the bridge near Anvil #8 (location listed on the page dedicated to Anvils) which will lead you to the top of the ruins. Raise the sealing totems to pick up the shard.
Superior air dash
The superior air dash is the next Gauntlet upgrade. Three air dashes will let you cross even the widest pits. You'll receive the upgrade as part of the main quest From Beliefs to Trust.
- You'll need to face a Spiker in the submerged city. It usually attacks with its tail - though it's easy to block.
- After defeating the Spiker, dig out the Anvil to get a Gauntlet part.
- Then, enter the camp - there are three shards on the desk. Pick them up, approach the Anvil and unlock the third air dash.
