Atlas Fallen - Camera Stutter Fix
Atlas Fallen has reached consoles and PC. While appreciated for well implemented combat, it is striked for technical issues, namely camera stutter. If you have noticed this problem, we may have a workaround for you.
It is not rare that a game studio comes up with an interesting idea on one aspect of a game, but then falls short when trying to build up on this concept. This is unfortunately the case with Atlas Fallen. While it is praised for great combat featuring intriguing Momentum mechanics, it underdelivers in other aspects. While not being a bad title by any means, it is mediocre at best (according to many players and critics). It turns out that not only gameplay is its problem, but also more technical matters, too. The most noticeable one may be camera stuttering. If you are experiencing this issue, we’re here to help.
How to fix camera stutter in Atlas Fallen?
The game has launched just recently, and I believe that hotfixes are already underway, but of course choppy camera movement can make Atlas Fallen very hard to enjoy as is. Until this is solved by an official patch from the developers, there may be a workaround that can mitigate this problem.
It seems like Atlas Fallen was designed mostly with consoles in mind, as players report that they see no difference between 60, 120 and 144fps in game. This also seems to be main reason for the game camera stutter issue. Fans, who already played the title, observed that the choppiness is especially noticeable on higher than 60 frames per second. To prevent this and make camera movement feel a lot more fluid, lock framerate at 60. This may not entirely fix the problem, but at least make the title more playable.
If this is still making the game impossible to enjoy, wait for an official patch that should arrive shortly.
