A Plague Tale Innocence in a nutshell
A Plague Tale: Innocence is an adventure action game with a TPP view, containing elements of stealth. The game was developed by Asobo Studio.
The action throughout the entire game takes place in 1349, in France. This was a period when the territory of this country was ravaged by the Plague - an epidemic spread by rats that killed approx. 30% of the population of the entire 14th-century Europe. Two of the protagonists, Amicia and Hugo, happen to have been born in these dire times. They will have to survive while escaping the plague, hungry rats, and evading the Inquisition that's pursuing them.
In the game, you only control Amicia. Hugo will be controlled by the artificial intelligence, which can execute your commands. In the game, much attention was paid to the element of stealth. Amicia has no weapons other than slingshots, which are inefficient when dealing with armored opponents. Therefore, clandestine actions are often the only viagle option. In addition, lighting also plays an important role. This is the only salvation from the swarms of hungry rats that will eat everything in their way.
Additional Emblems - how to unlock?
Arms in A Plague Tale Innocence determine the clothes worn by Amicia and Hugo. The arms don't affect the characters' abilities or the gameplay.
There is only one default set of clothes. You can get more arms by purchasing Coat of Arms DLC. It adds three new outfits.
Completing the game - how much time will it take?
The game has 17 chapters - completing them should take you around 12-15 hours - more about that on the Game's length page.
Different endings - are there any?
No. The game is linear and your playstyle doesn't matter. You always get the same ending.
A Plague Tale Requiem - do I need to play the first game?
A sequel of A Plague Tale, called A Plague Tale Requiem, will be released in 2022. It is highly recommended to play A Plague Tale Innocence first. This is because A Plague Tale Requiem is a direct sequel to Innocence. It has the same heroes (Amicia and Hugo), and the story can be treated as the next chapter.
Another reason to play A Plague Tale Innocence before Requiem is that the first game isn't very long. This means that you can learn the story without spending too much time with the game.
Multiplayer and co-op - are they in the game?
No, A Plague Tale Innocence only has a single-player mode. Hugo accompanies Amicia throughout almost the entire game. However, the boy is controlled by AI. You can later switch to Hugo for a brief moment - Amicia will then be controlled by AI. The campaign is 100% single-player. There are no additional game modes.
