System requirements | Battle Total War: Attila Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

Total War: Attila requires a medium PC. Youngest model of recommended processor is from year 2012. Recommended graphic cards are not much younger. By today standards, 4 GB of RAM memory isn't much, just as 35 GB of required space on hard drive.

Attila have five default graphic settings and for the needs of this guide it was played on second setting, in 1920x1080 resolution in windowed mode. During most of the game it worked with no trouble. Handling menu was easy and armies moved with no trouble on the map campaign. Trouble occurred during turn calculation, especially if large factions and armies were part of it. Sometimes it took even one minute for game to do it and after that it needed few moments to load changed map. Trouble sometimes occurred when opening city expansion screen or details about a character as well.

More trouble occurred during battle, but it all depended on its size. Battles of forty formations wasn't troublesome, just like battles of sixty formations. Near eighty the game started to slow, and beyond that it was worse. Night battles with fire arrows and stones were especially troublesome. Naval battles weren't working too good as well, especially on open sea, when they forced computer to render moving, light reflecting water.

Never did the computer stop working. Battle speed have never dropped to a level that made playing impossible. Despite that, the surplus of unit generated some lags, lowering the game comfort.

Title requires registering on Steam, but it allows playing alone in offline mode. Online mode offers team play for up to eight players. It requires mouse and keyboard.
