Important choices | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season The Walking Dead The Final Season Walkthrough
Last update: 11 September 2018
In this section of the guide you can find important choices that might influence the course of action and the storyline in this, as well as other episodes of The Walking Dead - The Final Season. The information found here is about the first episode: Done Running.
At the moment there is no information how the relationships with other characters will influence the storyline. More info will be available with the release of the next episode of the game. For now this chapter contains information about the choices which results can be seen at the ending of the chapter, in the form of slides.
Each of the following choices is "binary" - you can choose only one of the two:
- On the train station you must decide, whether AJ goes through the window or you kill mutants in the building and take their key.
- Go hunting with Louis and Aasim or fishing with Violet and Brody.
- Convince AJ to not sleep under the bed or let the boy do as he pleases.
- Once the group is back at the train station, decide whether you want to attack the man or give him a portion of food.
- During the conflict with Marlon on the courtyard, choose Louis or Violet to stand by your side.
The following choices are related to the final relations with side character and their mental state at the end of the chapter:
- Louis - lost or heartbroken: the outcome depends on whether you ask for his help during the conflict with Marlon (lost). In addition, it is important whether you went hunting with him and if you joined him to harass zombies, instead of helping Aasim in the hunt.
- Violet - guilty or horrified. As above, the condition depends on whether you asked her for her help during the conflict with Marlon. If you did, she will feel guilty. In addition, it is important how you acted during the conversation with the girl in your room (give her back Tenn's crayons and be polite to her), as well as how you acted during the conversation after getting back from the hunt, during the first chapter, when Louis is flirting with the girl. Praise Violet's skills to gain a positive status.
- Alvin Jr. - there are three states here: ruthless, hardened or pragmatic. This is influenced by the answer you gave at the beginning of the game, during the dialogue in which you give the boy a "life advice". "Save last bullet for yourself" - ruthless; "Always aim for head" - hardened; "Never hesitate" - pragmatic. Additional notes, appearing at the end of the chapter, are the decisions on whether you allowed AJ sleep under the bed or if you allowed Abel to run away with supplies or you attacked him on the train station.
- Tennessee - similarly to the above ones, there are four different states: resentful - "He should've sacrificed himself", bitter - "Because he's a coward", helpless - "He made a mistake", powerless - tell nothing: "...". The above dialogues are selected during the last conversation with Marlon, on the courtyard, when Tenn speaks to Marlon. Additional notes, available at the end of chapter, depend on: whether you attacked the boy during your first meeting (in the corridor, after freeing yourself) and if you allowed him to put you on the drawing.
The remaining, less important characters will also have an opinion about you at the end of the game:
- Omar - the cook, he will be pleased if you decide to talk with him during your walk with AJ through the courtyard.
- Mitch - as above: speak with him while walking through the courtyard with AJ.
- Aasim - he will be pleased if you helped him with the hunt (during the choice whether you want to go hunting or fishing and later whether you want to catch rabbits with Aasim or harass zombies with Louis).
- Ruby - she will be pleased if you reprimand AJ during the dinner (the option "Eat slowly" is the right answer).
- Willy - his state will depend on the dialogue option you choose after meeting with him: whether you were friendly or hostile (he is the first character you meet after leaving the school with Marlon).
- Rosie - the dog. You meet Rosie in Marlon's room. If you refuse Marlon's plea to befriend Rosie, the dog will be neutral towards you.
