  1. Set the mirror on Alvin,
  2. Select any dialogue option,
  3. Give him a newspaper from the seat,
  4. Give him a snack.

Once you arrive at your destination, collect a water container and a crowbar from the car trunk.

If there are two zombies charging you, you will not be able to defeat them without using knockout on one of them. - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide
If there are two zombies charging you, you will not be able to defeat them without using knockout on one of them.

You will run into the first zombie outside the house. In all cases the offensive looks exactly the same: try to immediately kill the enemy by pressing Q (triangle / Y) or break the leg of the enemy (knockout) by pressing E (circle / B). If you are in a one on one situation, you should use the faster option of direct offensive. If there are two enemies close to each other, you first need to knockout one of them and kill the other one.

A secret located behind a building. - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide
A secret located behind a building.

Behind the building you will find a skull with antlers lying on the barrels - this is one of the secrets that can be hanged in your room.

Approach the front doors and break them down with the crowbar. You will find two tied up monsters in the house. Approach and examine them - the one on the right side has a key, there is also a letter and a bottle lying on the floor, which must be examined as well. Now you must examine a small window leading into another room - you can now choose whether to kill the monsters and get the key or ask Alvin to go through the window to the other room. This choice has little to no impact on the story, but it will be visible in the notes at the end of the episode. You can find a jar of beans on the table.

A more important choice is the one that will become available once Alvin finds ammo to the revolver - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide

A more important choice is the one that will become available once Alvin finds ammo to the revolver. It will have an impact on the development of the boy's character, as stated at the end of the chapter - more on that topic can be found in "Endings" chapter of this guide.

In the next room you need to examine a can under the window. Thanks to that you will find a hatch in the floor - under the mattress that needs to be moved. When you will be examining it, a dialogue box will appear:

  1. "F*ck is right",
  2. "Watch the swears".

This is not an important choice, but it will influence what kind of vocabulary (swears: option 1) AJ will be using for the rest of the game. After the next cut-scene, you will run out the house with AJ. Eliminate three zombies blocking the way towards the car and enter the vehicle.

Here a QTE sequence will await you. Once inside the car, look at the gearbox, change the gear to "idle" and release the handbrake.

Head along the corridor to the left - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide

Head along the corridor to the left. After a short while you will hide and notice a boy with a knife in his hand. This is Tenn. The options are as follows:

  1. "Disarm him",
  2. "Show yourself",
  3. "Stay where you are".

It is not worth to startle him (option 1), as this choice will have a direct impact on the boy's relations with other characters, making it an important choice. The best choice is to show yourself (option 2). Further dialogue options have no impact, up to the moment you enter the building, after exploring the courtyard with Marlon.

Artificial flowers -secret #2. - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide
Artificial flowers -secret #2.

Once inside the school building, head towards the stairs leading upwards. There you will find a bouquet of yellow, artificial flowers. This is one of the secrets and the flowers can be put into a flowerpot in your room (soon). Afterwards, head to the frontal doors and then towards the side corridor - at its end you will find AJ and Louis. This conversation has no impact on the story, but preventing the boy from being overly nice will shorten the cut-scene. During the conversation with AJ, pick the "Tickle him" option - you will tickle him, unlocking the Tickle Monster achievement.

You will go outside, where you will meet Violet - available dialogue options have no impact on the story - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide

You will go outside, where you will meet Violet - available dialogue options have no impact on the story. An encounter awaits you here. Single enemies can be killed by pressing Q, when dealing with two enemies knock one down with E, kill the other one and return to the knocked down. If there are three enemies charging you, you need to split them. Additionally, you can use traps suspended on trees by cutting the ropes. Do not use all of the traps immediately, as they might be more valuable during the second wave of enemies. If you manage to kill all of the enemies from the first wave with traps alone, you will acquire Nothing Wasted achievement.

Dinner time

You will return back to school - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide

You will return back to school. During a conversation with Violet and Louis you can select from the following:

  1. "Violet, you were great",
  2. "Damn right",
  3. "You did well too, Louis".

Selecting dialogue options here will have an impact on Violet's opinion about you, which is why it is advised to praise her.

Real flowers - secret #3. - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide
Real flowers - secret #3.

Once you are back at the school's courtyard, you need to speak with other kids. Before you do so, however, it is worth to turn right and go along the building's wall. There, on the bench, you will find Real Flowers - secret #3. Selection of dialogue options, in most cases one of two, has an impact on the ending of the chapter - whether others will stand by your side or there will be a conflict. This is why it is worth to be polite and gain their trust:

  1. Mitch and Willy sharpening the knife, on the right side - they are always friendly, you just need to talk with them,
  2. Asim writing a book - tell AJ to give the book back ("Give it back, now"),
  3. Ruby (the girl AJ bit) - tell her you are sorry ("Tell her you were scared"),
  4. Violet and Tenn by the graves - they are side characters and in this case both dialogue options will have a positive effect,
  5. Broody and Marvin - stand up for AJ ("He's a good kid"),
  6. Mention AJ during the meal ("Eat slowly") - Ruby will like it .

Once you speak with all of the kids on the courtyard, you will unlock Social Butterfly achievement.

Dialogues in this part do not have any particular impact on the story, but it still complements the plot. - Chapter 1 | Episode 1 of The Walking Dead The Final Season - Episode 1 - Done Running - The Walking Dead The Final Season Game Guide
Dialogues in this part do not have any particular impact on the story, but it still complements the plot.

Another scene with choices is a card game. Not all of the dialogues have impact, but:

  1. Once Louis asks Clementine if she ever had a boyfriend, answer with "There was a boy once". Afterwards, pick "I had feelings for him" to not grieve the boy.
  2. A question to Clem on who she thinks will die the first: the safest is to pick Marlon.
  3. Questions asked by Clementine will not affect anything, but the safest are: asking about Marlon's haircut ("Marlon's haircut?") and the worst injury witnessed ("Worst injury witnessed?")
  4. In the case of Louis' last question - whether Clem killed someone she loved - the available answer will change in accordance to the events from the previous parts of the game. It will be either Lee or Kenny.

Clementine's room

The next part starts at the end of the day, in Clementine and AJ's room. Violet will enter the room during the cut-scene and will ask you about a crayon box.

  1. If you give it back ("You should probably give it back.") you will gain a bit of Tennessee's trust. During the conversation with Violet, once a second dialogue option appears, select "Naw, you're pretty cool." to improve the relationship with the girl.
  2. After this cut-scene you will receive AJ's picture (one of the secrets) that can be hanged on the wall. This happens always, regardless of whether you decide to give crayons to Violet or not.
  3. You can also allow AJ to sleep under the bed, as he wishes to do, to improve the relationship with the boy.
  4. Another chance to improve the relationship with Tenn is the next scene in Marlon's office - tell AJ to give Tenn her toy back ("Return it to Tenn").
