Playing TES Blades without spending a single dollar TES Blades guide, tips
Last update: 18 June 2019
This chapter contains tips for players who do not plan to spend a penny on microtransactions. This kind of free gaming translates into a greater investment of time spent on playing the game, but until the grind becomes unbearable, it's worth to save some money in the beginning.
Focus on gold
When you have decided to reject any microtransactions, you must forget most of the things you can pay with gems. These gems, which will be obtained in the missions of the main storyline and small amounts obtained in the course of everyday gameplay are best used to increase the capacity of the hero - both the number of owned chests and the number of items in the equipment. It is definitely not worth paying for speeding up chest opening process and buying time-limited "special offers" - the items gained from them scale to our level and quickly become useless when you advance a few levels higher.
If you give up on gems, your only currency will be gold. In order to maximize your earnings, you should build as many blacksmiths as possible to be able to sell unnecessary items not to one but to three merchants. It is also worth to avoid fighting as often as possible, when the enemy is relatively far away and can be avoided - if the mission objective is not related with killing a specific type of opponent, such combat will only deplete your health bar and reduce equipment's durability, which is quite expensive to repair.
To collect gold and building materials complete side missions and challenges. Regularly performing a few of them every day will allow you to gather a considerable amount of capital. You may use it to expand the city and buy even better items.
Can I complete the game as a free-to-play player?
The Elder Scrolls: Blades can be completed without spending a penny, but it is a long and sometimes tedious process. The strength of our hero really depends on the quality of the items from chests and luck during enchanting. In case of more difficult stages, we recommend to look at the opponent weaknesses in the appropriate section of the guide.
