Unlike spells and skills, perks give passive bonuses that constantly affect gameplay, not just during combat. First of all, they increase the damage dealt to your preferred weapon and from the elements (magic or enhanced weapons), but they also help you in getting more space in your inventory or draw better offers from a blacksmith when upgrading items.
Perks are a great way to complement your style of play, although at first it's better to focus on the other two trees and increase your abilities by learning the basics. Invest skill points only when you get to know all perks.

Armsman
Increases by 4 points the damage caused by weighted weapons - Longsword, War Axe and Mace.

Elemental Protection
Increases the value of protection points against damage from the elements when using shield.
- Cost of skill points: 1
- Requirements: level 2 of experience
Scout
Increases by 4 points the damage caused by light weapons - Dagger, Hand Axe and Light Hammer.

- Requirements: level 4 of experience, Armsman
Augmented Flames
Increases fire damage by 6 points.
- Cost of skill points: 1
- Requirements: level 5 of experience, Elemental Protection
Barbarian
Increases damage by 7 points with heavy weapons - Greatsword, Battleaxe, Warhammer.

- Requirements: level 5 of experience, Armsman
Load Bearer
Increases inventory capacity by 10 slots.
- Skill points cost: 2
- Requirements: level 6 of experience, Elemental Protection
Combat Focus
Increases resistance to all types of damage by 7 when using skills.

- Requirements: level 7 of experience, Scout
Willpower
The hero recovers 50 magicka points after interrupted cast of a spell.
- Skill points cost: 2
- Requirements: level 8 of experience, Augmented Flames
Advanced Hardening
Increases the maximum level of item enhancement at the blacksmith by 2 levels (up to level 6.). Temper improves item stats through increasing its rank, for example, from Remarkable to Exquisite. The highest levels can be obtained only by having this perk.

Matching Set
Increases the value of armor by 58 points when wearing a complete set of the same type, e.g. Steel, Silver or Orcish.

Augmented Poison
Increases poison damage by 9 points.
- Skill points cost: 3
- Requirements: level 15 of experience, Combat Focus
Augmented Frost
Increases frost damage by 8.
- Skill points cost: 4
- Requirements: level 16 of experience, Willpower
Healing Surge
Increases health regeneration by 9 points when you have full or almost full stamina bar. Regeneration works only during battle.

Augmented Shock
Increases lightning damage by 1 point.
- Skill points cost: 5
- Requirements: level 24 of experience, Augmented Frost
Enchantment Synergy
Increases the effectiveness of special skills of items by 5%.

- Requirements: level 27 of experience, Matching Set, Advanced Tempering
Mettle
Increasing physical skill power by 10% when your health is critical.

Maximum Power
Increases effectiveness of spells by 10% when you have a full bar of magicka points.
