Spec Ops: The Line game guide

The unofficial guide to Spec Ops: The Line contains a very detailed walkthrough of all missions in the game. In the description of each chapter of single player campaign we've included information on:

  • ways of completing assigned tasks;
  • effective elimination of encountered enemies;
  • skillful commanding of the team;
  • finding and using the best equipment;
  • using destroyable environment elements;
  • discovering Intel Items, which act as secrets in the game.

Some tips to start

  • Keep in mind that information on finding secrets is stored permanently. So you do not have to wait until the team reaches the next checkpoint. What's more, you do not have to complete the campaign again in case of skipping any Intel Items, because you can just use the chapter selection option from the main game menu.
  • Team members are not immortal. If one of your subordinates gets critical damage, you can act in two ways: heal him personally or order other ally to do this (press MMB (middle mouse button) after targeting wounded team member). As for Walker, do not forget about possibility of health bar auto regeneration. You should use this option while you hiding behind the cover, because hits stop the healing process.
  • Walker can carry two weapons at any given time and limited number of grenades. So it is worth to carry one single weapon with massive fire power and one to which you can easily find ammo. I also recommend regular use of hand grenades because you can find quite often crates with equipment.

The Problem With Games Isn't Politics - It's Lack Thereof

Why the social issues? Why the politics? Hands off our favorite medium – I read under half of the news from the gaming world. And each time, I think to myself that someone obviously missed the moment when video games became political.

Why games avoid contemporary armed conflicts – political corectness or industry's immaturity?

Video games allow us to experience, whether truthfully or not, frontlines of the past and the future alike. But why are there so few video games dealing with present-day wars? Why do developers seem to consistently avoid this subject?
