Last update: 06 May 2021
On this page of the Returnal game guide, you will find a description of the fourth biome of Atropos - Echoing Ruins.
Basic information
Echoing Ruins is the fourth biome of the planet Atropos in Returnal After moving to this area, Selene will begin each cycle in this place - she will not return to the Overgrown Ruins.
Echoing Ruins are very similar to Overgrown Ruins, but the biome is more green - all kinds of plants, trees, and vines grow everywhere. This is the second biome where you'll find Selene's house.
The most dangerous opponents
The first new and dangerous opponent in the Echoing Ruins is a large monster with many legs. The opponent has a large health bar, uses many area skills, and sometimes is protected by a shield.
If you don't have a weapon with The Shieldbreaker alternative attack, you will have to get close to the creature and hit it with the blade to break through the shield.
The other dangerous enemy you may encounter exploring the Echoing Ruins is a four-legged creature you may remember from the Overgrown Ruins, the first biome. In addition to the standard jump attack, the opponents also gain access to several new abilities.
Aiming at the head will cause more damage to the enemy, and in addition, it will faster stagger it, so the creature will not be able to perform any actions for a few seconds.
In the closed area of this biome, you can find a modified and much stronger version of the enemy described above. This opponent has much more health, his attacks cause more damage, and it has several dangerous skills, such as a sphere shooting purple laser beams. This opponent should definitely be kept at a distance.
Boss
At the end of the Echoing Ruins, you will have to face the fourth boss in Returnal - Hyperion. A detailed description of the Phrike boss fight, as well as tips and tricks on how to defeat it, can be found on the Hyperion - boss, how to defeat? page.
