The Xbox Series X Launch Date Confusion

Contrary to what some local versions of the official Xbox Series X website have stated, the release date scheduled for this year's Thanksgiving Day is not correct. It was supposed to be a mistake and for now Microsoft is only ready to confirm that the console will make its debut in late 2020.

We still don't know exactly when the console will debut on the market.
IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Some official websites of the Xbox Series X gave the launch date on November 26, 2020;
  2. Microsoft has announced that the date is incorrect;
  3. The company is still not ready to give the console's release date.

There was a lot of confusion about the release date of Xbox Series X. Some official sources suggested that it will take place on November 26, this year, the Thanksgiving Day. It turns out, however, that the reports are wrong and the launch date remains the vague "holiday period of 2020".

The confusion was due to the fact that several regional official websites of the console, including the British one, informed that the Xbox Series X will be released on the next Thanksgiving Day, which is November 26. Doubts were raised by the fact that such date did not appear on the main, American website of the platform.

Finally, Microsoft had to take the floor. In a statement published on Twitter, it was announced that some official websites had mistakenly set the November 26 date. It was announced that the launch would take place during the holiday season of this year, and no more precise date has been given yet.

Of course, Microsoft's denials do not necessarily mean that the date itself will not be eventually confirmed. It is possible that the company is simply not yet ready to give a specific date. The fact that several official websites reported that the Xbox Series X will make its debut on Thanksgiving Day may suggest that the corporation was at least considering launch on that day.

Let's recall that the last days were full of excitement for fans of Microsoft consoles. On Monday, we learned the hardware specs of Xbox Series X. We also learned a lot about the optional storage card that provides another 1TB of space, and we got acquainted with new details about the controller.
