Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 release set for next month
We have known that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will arrive on PS5 since last August. Now we have an official release date thanks to a creative trailer.

Today, Bethesda Softworks announced the release date for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5. The announcement arrived in the form of a short video collaboration between the two performers of each console’s treasure-hunting heroes. Nolan North, who played Nathan Drake in Uncharted, and Troy Baker, who played Indiana Jones, briefly discuss what makes a great adventure, joke about their respective games and characters. Then North says to Baker, “welcome to the club” and opens a small box to reveal the April 17th PS5 release date.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes to PlayStation 5 on April 17th
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been well received by fans and critics since it launched in December. It has had several months of exclusivity to the Xbox console, alongside a Steam release, but it will finally arrive on the rival console next month. Fans have known that the game would launch on PS5 long before the games original release. The final announcement at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live presentation in August revealed that the Xbox exclusive would also arrive on PlayStation sometime early this year.
The Great Circle had great reviews across the board, an 87 / 100 on OpenCritic, and we considered it a “love letter to fans of the film trilogy” in our review. With such high praise it’s likely that this game will find a second life on the Sony console. Since Machine Games and Bethesda Softworks fall under the Xbox family of studios now, it’s also a big win for Xbox.
The Microsoft gaming giant has continued to bring its games to other consoles, including recent announcements about Forza Horizon 5 and the long-time exclusive strategy games Age of Mythology: Retold and Age of Empires. These moves have recently made Xbox the biggest video game publisher in the world.
The Nintendo Switch 2 direct presentation is on April 2nd, and Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has mentioned a few times how Xbox intends to support the new console. Chances are that Indiana Jones coming to the new Nintendo console are out of the realm of possibility, however, there’s still so much we don’t know about the Switch 2, including how powerful it will be.
Rumors have been popping up more and more about a potential Xbox handheld device, so maybe Xbox will want to keep their games on their hardware. But, until that device becomes available, it might not be a bad idea to see how their major console releases are able to run on a new handheld device like the Switch 2.
