HLL 2025 roadmap and dev Q&A. We know what’s next for Hell Let Loose
New maps, vehicles, and bug fixes are coming, but there's even more in the works. HLL devs answer player questions.

Hell Let Loose first dropped in Early Access on Steam in 2019 and officially launched in 2021 – but it didn’t have the smoothest start. While it found a niche audience of dedicated players, it also got some flak for bugs, performance issues, and a tough learning curve that made it a challenge for casual players. Over time, consistent updates, gameplay improvements, and a growing community turned things around. Now, the game sits at 84% positive reviews on Steam, and with Team17’s newly announced roadmap, it looks like things are only going to get better.
What’s coming to Hell Let Loose in 2025
Hell Let Loose devs have just revealed their 2025 roadmap on Reddit. The next four major updates will bring:
- Two new maps – Tobruk and Eastern Front.
- A Stalingrad map refresh to finally fix those long-standing performance issues.
- New vehicles to shake up the battlefield.
- Fresh DLC cosmetics.
The original HLL devs, Black Matter, sold the rights to Team17 in 2022 and moved on to new projects. To keep things moving forward, Team17 launched Cover 6 Studios in 2023, dedicated to Hell Let Loose and making sure it keeps improving – and so far, it’s paying off. Just like in 2024, we’re seeing plenty of feature upgrades, gameplay reworks, and quality-of-life improvements.
A few days after unveiling the 2025 roadmap, the Hell Let Loose dev team hosted a live Q&A. Here are the highlights:
- The new Eastern Front map will be set in summer 1943, with an early public test planned for community feedback.
- No Pacific Theater in 2025, but they might revisit the idea later.
- Danzig is still in the works, with a public test planned for the community.
- Juno Beach has a playable design in development.
- A new type of tank is being prototyped.
- The team is reworking the tank tier system, replacing it with individual stats for a more authentic experience.
- Soviet vehicles will finally get snow camo on winter maps.
- The medic role is getting some love, with potential stat changes, new abilities, and gameplay improvements.
- New DLCs will be tied to new maps.
- No plans for a map creator, but server owners might get new tools to create custom gameplay scenarios.
- The devs are looking into why Omaha Beach isn’t played much and are open to rebalancing it.
- They’re working to sync console updates with PC and get console players involved in public testing.
