Patch Helps Players Who Have Over 25K Games on Steam, All 3 of Them
Valve Software has fixed a bug that could cause the Steam client to crash for accounts with more than 25,000 games assigned to them. There are three people in the world with such a collection.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Some gamers have over 25k games on Steam;
- The leader is an American with over 32 thousand titles in his library. The other two come from China and Russia;
- Valve fixed a bug that could result in crashes for accounts with more than 25 thousand assigned titles.
Over the years, users' Steam libraries can grow to such an extent that when looking for interesting items we start using the built-in search engine. It seems that for some players this is the only option, because their libraries contains more than 25 thousand games. We found out about this because Valve fixed a bug that could cause crashes on accounts with more than 25,000 titles (via Reddit).
Of course, it can't be ruled out that the bug was discovered during the company's internal tests, but according to Steamladder, there are exactly three people in the world whose collection broke through the discussed barrier. In first place is a user from the U.S. - dwight schrute (account name uses lowercase letters) - who owns nearly 33 thousand titles. The second spot is taken by a Chinese known as Sonix (28.6 thousand games), and the last place on the podium is occupied by a Russian (gt4 - 26 thousand). Interestingly, the list of players with more than 20 thousand games is much longer - there are twenty people on it.
As noted by PCGamer, there are currently over 51,000 games on Steam, so each of the three record holders owns more than half of all the titles released on Valve's platform. It should be noted, however, that the catalog of available items is growing very quickly - only in 2020 more than 10 thousand productions were added to it.
