Rumors of Dark Souls 3 Remaster Spark Discussions on Bloodborne's Future
A rumor appeared online that Dark Souls 3 is set to receive a remaster. Fans of FromSoftware games showed no enthusiasm, again turning their attention to Bloodborne.
The remaster of Bloodborne has already become almost legendary among fans of FromSoftware studio games. In March next year, it will be 10 years since the premiere of the title, and it is still only available on Sony consoles, where it sometimes struggles to maintain even 30 frames per second. Meanwhile, a rumor has appeared on the internet that another game from the Japanese studio will be getting a new version.
Industry insider Nick "Shpeshal Nick" Baker revealed during the latest episode of The XboxEra Podcast that Dark Souls 3 Remastered is in preparation. He didn't provide the source of this news or present any evidence but acknowledged having some additional information that he cannot yet disclose.
The fans received this news with moderate enthusiasm. The original Dark Souls 3 is available on all contemporary platforms, and it reaches 60 fps on PS5 and XSX/S (although the native resolution on Microsoft consoles is 900p). For this reason, many people consider this remaster to be simply unnecessary. Furthermore, some have pointed to Dark Souls 2 as a game more suited for remastering.
Of course, the rumor also caused disappointment among Bloodborne fans. Some people on Reddit find the entire situation amusing, even though it sometimes seems like laughing through tears.
Dark Souls 3 Remaster before Bloodborne? We are living in a Dark Souls loop.
Well, it might actually be true, since it's not about Bloodborne.
It's worth remembering, however, that the Bloodborne brand unlike Dark Souls, belongs entirely to Sony and it is solely up to this company whether we will receive a refreshed version.
Dark Souls 3 was released in 2016 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. As part of backward compatibility, you can also play the game on PS5 and XSX/S.
