A few months ago we learned that Ronin, an interesting platformer by Tomasz Waclawek, will be published by Devolver Digital, which released such independent hits as The Talos Principle, Shadow Warrior or Hotline Miami. More than a dozen hours ago the release date was revealed of the full version of another Polish production. The PC title will launch in digital distribution on June 30 for the price of EUR 12.99. Currently, the project is available on Steam in early access, but on release it will be upgraded to its full version.
- Genre: turn-based platformer
- Developer: Tomasz Waclawek
- Publisher: Devolver Digital
- Platforms: PC, PS4, PSV
- Release date: June 30, 2015 (PC); later on PS4 and PSV
In the game we assume the role of a mysterious girl who seeks revenge for the murderer of her father. To accomplish this we need to get through a series of levels where a host of enemies awaits us. The combat is turn-based. When we are about to strike, the game pauses, and the player has to launch a deadly attac while avoiding being hit. The game is complemented by stealth elements and atmospheric visuals. Ronin can be compared to a mix of two other popular indie productions – Mark of the Ninja from Klei Entertainment and Gunpoint from Suspicious Developments.
Later on, the title will also launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Before you decide on the purchase, check out the demo version.
