Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.1.0d is more buffs and nerfs. Players demand free respec
Grinding Gear Games studio isn't slowing down. Update 0.1.0d brings many changes, including various buffs and nerfs of player characters.
The latest changes promised by the Grinding Gear Games studio for Path of Exile 2 have been released. Patch 0.1.0d is now available for download on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
Among the long list of fixes and improvements shared on the series' official forum is the promised buff to doges. Just a reminder, player characters will now be able to squeeze through even the smallest gaps between enemies, and rolling will also push back smaller opponents. This change should make players less likely to find themselves trapped after being surrounded by mobs unless their "living wall" completely blocks the escape route.
However, this is not the only help that players received after the recent nerfs. Much to the surprise of some Early Access players, the passive block ability now works on attacks from all directions, rather than just from the character's front. Some players were puzzled as to why their characters were taking too much damage despite equipping them with the skill, and now the mystery is solved.
For the sake of balance, version 0.1.0d also adds another nerf. The abilities Rain of Arrows and Firestorm now have a limited hit rate. In reality, this will only affect clashes with big bosses, who so far have been dropping like flies after using these skills. In the fight against minor enemies, the effectiveness of these powers will remain unchanged.
Fortunately, the patch also included several minor buffs as well as various improvements: from search options for grinding and merchant offers, through increased gold profits from rune sales, to nerfing the more difficult Ultimatum bosses.
Players are generally happy with another update in the first week after the start of Early Access and thus the rapid development and patching of Path of Exile 2. However, developers are being asked to temporarily reduce or even remove the cost of respec, which involves undoing all upgrades and rebuilding the character. At least for those who use nerfed abilities.
Some fans simply decide to start the adventure anew. After all, they argue, it's Early Access, and such changes aren't surprising. Especially since the developers themselves indicated that they prefer to deal with such problems earlier, rather than waiting for players to get used to relying on one "broken" option.
