Obsidian Is Working on Another Game Besides Avowed. Information Was Revealed by One of the Employees
We learned that Obsidian Studio is in the early stages of working on a new, yet unannounced project.
It seems that, apart from Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, Obsidian Entertainment is working on at least one more undisclosed project.
- The source of these reports is the LinkedIn profile of Daniel Cabuco, who works at the Obsidian studio.
- In his CV, he wrote that he has been serving as the artistic director for an unannounced project of the studio since July.
- Cabuco probably didn't have permission to reveal this fact, so the mention of the unannounced project quickly disappeared from his LinkedIn profile, but the cat was already out of the bag.
- The game is probably in the early stages of development, so we shouldn't expect it to be revealed quickly, especially since Cabuco only joined the project last month and the role of the art director is crucial for the game's shape.
The question arises, what could this project be. Many fans are counting on a new Fallout, considering New Vegas a better game than the installments of the series developed by Bethesda studio.
Daniel Cabuco is a new acquisition of Obsidian studio. He previously worked, among others, at Spark Unlimited studio on Lost Planet 3 and in the Riot Games team (where he was involved with Valorant, among others). He said goodbye to this last company at the beginning of this year, when it carried out mass layoffs.
Let's remind that the next project of Obsidian Entertainment will be Avowed. Up until now, we had expected the game to premiere this year, but yesterday rumors surfaced suggesting that the release of the title may be postponed to the beginning of 2025. Interestingly, this isn't supposed to be due to the poor technical condition of the game (which is quite common in the case of games from this team). Instead, Microsoft, the owner of the studio, is afraid of an excessive influx of hits in Game Pass.
