Metaphor ReFantazio is a game developed by Atlus, which is known for such series as Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. It seems that the newest title in studio’s portfolio is similar to them mechanically and stylistically, albeit set in a completely different setting. Players wonder if they will be able to play in multiplayer mode or at least in co-op with others, knowing that this was impossible in most of other games from this developer. Let’s explain this issue.

Metaphor ReFantazio – Multiplayer and Coop Explained

Answering the question of whether Metaphor ReFantazio will have a multiplayer or coop mode, we have to say that unfortunately the chance of this is very small. The first reason to think this way is that when you go to the game's page on the Steam platform, you can see that it only shows information about single-player mode. Rather little chance of this changing, taking into consideration studio’s history.

Looking at available materials, we can safely compare Metaphor ReFantazio to Persona, as both titles seems to be very similar. Based on that, one can conclude that multiplayer will not be implemented in the newest Atlus game. In Persona you can't join other players, even in coop. Therefore, intuition suggests that it will also be impossible in Metaphor.

As a reminder, Metaphor ReFantazio is a jRPG game set in a fantasy world. Players must save the kingdom from disaster, facing many threats. As with other Atlus studio games, you will have to explore many atmospheric locations, complete quests and fight a large number of enemies in a turn-based combat system.
