Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 seems to be only a matter of time. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 files contained the names of three games that may be included in the second part of the collection.
From the announcements of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 - debuting today; here's where you'll find a summary of reviews - we wondered if the "Vol. 1" addition in the title indicates that Konami will also release the second part of the bundle. For there is certainly no shortage of installments in the series that could be part of it.
Although so far this Japanese company has not officially announced anything, gamers instantly found a clue in the files of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. A note appears in them suggesting not only the creation of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, but also what games might make up the collection.
"MGS4", "MGS5", MGSPW" - these are the abbreviated names found in the files of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. They quite clearly point to the gamesMGS 4: Guns of the Patriots, MGS V: The Phantom Pain and MGS: Peace Walker. Here you can see screenshots of the relevant lines of code.
The community seems pleased with Konami's alleged choice - especially with "four", which is the main installment of the series but released only on the PlayStation 3, so that many players never had direct contact with it. A similar case is Peace Walker, released only on the PSP, although here we are dealing with a spin-off.
It's hard to say whether fans have managed to discover all the games that will be included in the possibleMetal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. If so, several installments of the series would be left out, including MGS: Revengeance, MGS: Portable Ops or the prologue of the fifth game - Ground Zeroes (unless the latter item is included in the main game). Of course, it is not impossible that Konami also has plans for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 3, but let's wait with such speculations at least until the announcement of the second part.
